Who We Are:
Mother Hen is an organization in place to provide comprehensive parental coaching as well as therapeutic support for children.
Within the parental coaching offerings, specific and detailed plans are tailor-made according to our professionals’ holistic assessment of the respective parenting challenges our clients are facing. The ultimate goal, as we progress through the coaching journey with our clients, is for our parents to ascend to their best selves as parents thereby creating an atmosphere for their children to excel in each area of their lives.
Children in today’s society can sometimes face an onslaught of varying challenges as they maneuver through their everyday activities…..from potential learning disabilities, to challenges interacting with schoolmates and friends, to breakdowns in relating with parents and others in authority. Mother Hen will make comprehensive assessments of the child’s struggles and then put in place detailed plans for a meaningful trajectory towards his/her success. These plans may include therapy sessions for the child and/or our professionals interacting directly with the child’s school.

Behavioral issues are not an individual problem within the family but reflect a central family issue.

- Trauma, survivors of abuse/domestic violence: Help parents with their trauma responses and how it impacts the parent-child relationship and parenting overall. Parents will learn tools to relate differently to their children by being more proactive rather than reactive.
- Acculturation stress: We will help you deal with the additional stressors of being an immigrant or ethnic minority and raising a family.
- Screen time issues: When your child fights you for screen time, we will teach you tools to incorporate other activities into your child’s life. We will set schedules and boundaries around screen time and engage in more family-focused interactions, activities, and play.
- Adaptive communication: Talking to your child about their emotions and hard times is difficult for most parents to do. We will teach you tips and tools to better communicate with your child, fostering a more open and nurturing communication style.
- New parents: We will help you deal with all the stressors of being new parents as you strive for excellence in that new role. You will learn how to have an adaptive parenting style and bring balance to your life.
- We will teach you how to be emotionally in tune with your child and not parent from a place of self, guilt, or insecurity.
